This is my favorite Stampin' Up! Starter idea...birthday cards are the most practical cards to make! Stampin' Up! mostly sells stamps in sets. But since this blog series is mostly for beginners, I wanted to highlight a few of the individual stamps that SU offers. I already showed you the single bunny stamp, super cute! I equally love this birthday cake stamp, and it comes with the sentiment too!
This kit idea includes the individual birthday cake & sentiment stamp. Then I picked two markers, pink and orange, but you could pick any two colors that you wanted. One of my favorite SU ribbons is the 1/4" grosgrain so I included that too. I love putting ribbon on my cards! And like many of the other kit ideas, I added a package of 20 note cards and envelopes.
Here is the card up close. With markers, you can multi-color a stamp image...unlike with an ink pad. Cool, huh?
And here is the supply list. $25 for 20 cards...plus a stamp, markers, and extra ribbon for later!
Sweet Birthday Stamp $7.95
2 Markers $6.50
Notecards $5.95 (20 cards and 20 envelopes)
Grosgrain Ribbon $4.95 (15 yards, 19 colors to choose from, colors coordinate with markers)
This concludes my week-long series of ideas for getting started in stamping. Whether you are getting started, wanting to get back to the basics, or looking for gift ideas...I hope I inspired new and seasoned stampers alike!
Now onto an organizational series...I have a new stamp room to share!

This is so cute, what a great idea to take two markers to color one image and viola, a card!
