Organizing Concealed Items

In attempt to move stamping essentials closer to my "sitting table", you already know that I put the Big Shot and Paper Trimmer onto the hutch counter. The hutch is right behind my sitting chair so I can swivel to get stuff out of the hutch. If only I had more stamping supplies there in my reach. But no, the hutch has been full of business supplies instead. Well, that's no fun!

So I had to move the "business stuff" out of the hutch drawers. Where to put them? In my OTHER hidden storage unit...the armoire. First, I grabbed a couple Sterilite drawers from my "bins stash" upstairs. I garage sale a lot of excess, but I rarely sell my organizers...I know I will use them again because I am often rearranging. So I'm glad these were in my stash.

THE NEWLY ORGANIZED ARMOIRE
business supplies, sewing, & containers

TOP SHELF:
Bucket of cards to mail
Small Sterilite with business supplies
Tin with mod podge & acrylic paint supplies
Large Sterilite with postage scale, postage stamps, address books, mailing labels, etc

MIDDLE SHELF:
Sewing materials, plastic bags for packaging

BOTTOM SHELF:
Fabric
Sewing tools
Bucket of empty clamshells and tins

As you can see, all of these things are essentials but not "pretty" enough to be out for display. So having them hidden in an armoire is a great place for these items.

THE NEWLY ORGANIZED HUTCH
stamping supplies

TOP CENTER DRAWER of HUTCH:

Paper pads, Big Shot accessories, Framelits, basket of Big Shot embosslits/sizzlets & embossing borders, embossing folders, embossing frames. Sorry for sideways picture.

BIG CABINET of HUTCH:

Shelf divider from DEALS ($5): I recommend these for cabinets all over your house!
Top Shelf: XL dies, L dies
Bottoms Shelf: bucket of alphabet dies, bucket of shaped dies

SIDE DRAWERS of HUTCH:

Divider Baskets: I love to use these little baskets inside of drawers. You can get them at the dollar stores.
Top Drawer: Baskets of accessories in flat packaging & stack of Twines
Second Drawer: Watercoloring items, paper piercing tools, and scissor sharpener

So there is a lot of my "hidden storage". Next time I will show you the small bookshelf that holds things that are more presentable to be "out". I enjoy discerning between the things that are presentable enough to double as decor and the things that are more just "functional" and need hidden. That's a big part of the organizing process!

Jamie, I LOVE reading about your organizing! You have inspired me to tackle the one box that is still unsorted. I even blogged about your blog:)
