My New Camera

To all my club girls, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know you were all pulling for the red camera. But I ended up downgrading from what I thought I wanted, and it didn't come in red (boo hoo). Why you ask? Well, I decided to save $50 so I could purchase the 3 year warranty. I know, I know. I don't usually buy warranties either. But as it turns out, the life of my past digital cameras has averaged about 2 years each. I use my camera daily so I guess I'm hard on them. I am really banking on the fact that I am gonna cash in on that warranty before 3 years is up.

And hello, the BIG deciding factor on a warranty...having two little boys! Not only do they manage to sneak the camera with their grubby little hands, but I am often dropping my camera when we are out and about. Diaper bag, purse, coupons, jackets, hats, snacks, drinks...I need a cart to keep track of it all. Inevitably I drop my camera, wallet, and cell phone often.

In fact, the salesman at Office Depot made the comment, "yeah, if your camera is on it's last leg...one last drop can put it over the edge". I'm like, "Hey, how did you know that's what happened? I totally dropped it on the sidewalk at least twice at Washington Park last week, and it didn't work after that. So I guess it's death was to be expected after two years of abuse.

I think I got a good deal though. They price matched a competitor. And I should be getting $30 on my Max Perks card. That will go to good use on some printer ink. I also got a camera bag for 25% off. I'm gonna try harder not to scratch this camera up. The guy promised the warranty would replace my new camera even if I drop the sucker in the toilet. Ok, does this guy know me? Because I totally did that in college with one camera. I'm not lying. Quincy, Applebees, camera in jacket pocket, restroom break....you get the idea.

So anyways, it was a long few days without being able to capture the little monkeys on camera. I'm happy to have a new one, and I will try my hardest to take good care of it. I don't even try to talk Jeff into a fancy camera anymore. We both know it wouldn't last long enough for what we'd spend on one. Point and shoot it is.

Christmas Card Kit $20

My Christmas Kit this year will include supplies for making 16 Christmas cards, four of each of the above colors. The red and green are your more traditional looking cards while the turquoise and orchid offer unique, fun options for Christmas.

The half scallop circles are die-cut using the Big Shot machine. And the punched ornaments are dry embossed white for elegant texture and further "pop" with 3D adhesive. You will receive plenty of silver cord to either tie in bows or simple knots at the top of the ornament for the element of "sparkle". The cards are contemporary square but fit into typical SU envelopes for regular postage prices. Sixteen ultra-smooth SU envelopes are also included in the kit.

Want to know the best part? The SU stamp set, Christmas Greetings, is also included in the kit (retail value $10.95)! So you will be able to use this set again and again for more cards or scrapbooking. All you need from home to put these cards together is adhesive and a black ink pad.
If you want a second kit without the stamp set, an additional 16 cards is just $10 more.

Please reserve your kit(s) by Friday, October 30th.

Stamp Club: October

This is a fun use of the Sweet Treats set without using the Sweet Treats cups. We used circle and oval punches! I had to have this set just for the hot air balloon. LOVE IT! Did you know 3x6 cards fit great in small business envelopes? Great way to use 12x12 paper for making cards.

This card was the hit of the night. I used the Bigz square scallop die to make a scallop square card...my favorite use of this see-through die. We dyed the white silk flower with ink refill and an aquapainter. And I really like to use the linen thread and hemp twine as my ribbon embellishments in the fall. So natural looking. Many girls ordered the scallop die and the filigree brads after doing this project. Can you blame them?

This is the pop up card that I demonstrated. Much easier than it looks. I like to use flowers even in the fall and winter. It's just a matter of picking seasonal colors and you can totally get away with it.

Christmas Card Kit

I can't let this time of the year go by without offering a Christmas card kit to my stamping friends...some of whom have grown to rely on me each year, ha, ha. So let's do it again this year, shall we?

I don't have a sample to show just yet. The supplies are on order. But once I have a sample made, I will give a preview of this year's cards. It will probably be one design, in four different colors. Each kit will make 16 cards.

This will be take-home style so you can work at your leisure.

The cost of the kit will be $20 and it will include your very own stamp set! Christmas Greetings retails for $10.95 in the catalog and here it is...I love the words, I love the font, I love this set!
I am envisioning a kit that will include:

White Cards
White Envelopes
Colored Cardstock Layers
Punched and Dry Embossed Ornaments
Silver Cord
Pop Dots
Christmas Greetings Stamp Set

You may purchase additional kits of 16 cards, minus the stamp set, for just $10 if you need more than 16 cards.

I'm sorry I don't have a sample yet, but I wanted to at least let you know this was coming. I know people are planning their Christmas cards already. Stay tuned!
