Quilt Card: Pink and White

I could just squeal over how cute these quilt cards are! I THINK quilters would like these, right? I'm not a quilter but...

Quilt Card: Ruby & Baja

Oh my goodness, I'm getting better at these quilt cards. Someday I hope to have a whole bunch in my mom's sewing shop. I love the touch of SU designer paper and buttons. Gotta go with that!

A Kind Word

It is certainly time for an SU sample. This is a new set called A Kind Word. I used SU texture plates and the new mocha buttons. Yum! And taffeta ribbon, it's my favorite. DSP and papers are SU as well.

Spa Riley

I did this for a Hanna challenge. We were supposed to use diamonds in some way so I used a Cuttlebug folder that fit the bill. Ok, is that not the cutest stamp? I need a pedi for spring big time! Papers, DSP, buttons, ribbon...all SU. Amuse sentiment.

Spring Challenge

Ooooo la, la! I really like this card! I did this as part of a Gina K challenge. All we had to do was use springy colors. I used her My Cuppa Joe set and paper pieced it with SU's super springy Tea Party DSP. Check out the nestie and dry embossing action. Woot!

Warm & Fuzzy

I did this card as a Gina K sketch challenge. The stamp is from her Warm and Fuzzy set. I used SU DSP, paper, brads, and texture plates. Check out the flower brad on top of the designer brad. Oh yeah, baby! And my new thing is to cut off the prongs on brads and to glue dot them down. It doesn't take long at all and it helps cut down on the bulk. I like this new trick!

Turtle Mania

I have a major obsession with critters right now. Although, I AM being good at saying no to bees, hedgehogs, mice, and snails right now. Those just aren't my thing. But having two boys...turtles, frogs, puppies, kitties, safari animals...they are all fair game in my little stamping adventure right now. This is the Denami turtle with an Amuse sentiment. Not the most flashy card but oh well.

Elzy Dog

I did this sketch challenge from the Elzybell blog. I really love these sketch challenges these days! They take a lot of work out of stamping. This is the Sweet Always DSP and is my VERY FAVORITE DSP right now! I use it a LOT! The sentiment is from Elzybell. Ribbon from SU. And see my subtle SU texture plates in action?

Simple Turtle

This turtle is from Denami. He's little but fits in SU's scallop circle great! Sentiment by Amuse. DSP and paper from SU. Go hostess print pack!!!

Colored Bunnies

Whoa, this card is busy. I followed a sketch challenge over at Beate's blog. The DSP is Tea Party by SU. I got the idea of layering the SU punches like that on Beate's card. I think it looks pretty cool. Oh, and check out the new neutral brads from SU. Yay for white! Sentiment is Amuse.

Little Critters

I found more super cute critter stamps. Look out! These are from Denami. The images are quite small but still fun. The DSP is apricot paper from the current SU hostess paper pack.

Stamping Bug

Stampingbella (who make the Bella stamps) have other lines as well. One of them is this bug line. I am not a huge fan of fairy looking stamps. Something about wings scares me. But I thought this stamp was too cute, the stamping bug! I've been bit by the stamping bug!

I paper-pieced the dress and hat. Papers, DSP, ribbon, and button are SU. I layered SU's oval punches. And didn't even dry emboss this time!

Ribbon Share

I have one more share left on the Ribbon Originals swap. This is the pricey SU ribbon that runs $12-$13 a package. It is beautiful textured ribbon. We split all three packages plus some of the new white organza ribbon (which is to die for as well!). Each person receives 1 yard (3 feet) of each style for a total of 9 yards of ribbon (27 feet!). Cost for one share is $14 total.

Here is picture of the share I have left. If you would like to snag this bundle of ribbon, be the first one to contact me.

Riley Coffee

Continuing on with my Riley obsession, of course I could not resist the coffee and cupcake Riley! SU DSP and papers, brads, and ribbon. Amuse sentiment. Used Nestabilities and Cuttlebug folder in the Big Shot.

GI Jon Riley

I sent this card to my brother-in-law who is in Iraq. I sent along with it over 100 handstamped cards and envelopes for his buddies to send back home to loved ones. My BIL will be running his very own Hallmark store out of Iraq.

This uses SU cardstock, ribbon, buttons. And Amuse sentiment. The color is In-Color Kiwi Kiss.

Riley Fishing

Lovin' the Riley moose from Hanna Stamps! I used SU DSP and designer button. I am really going to miss Baja Breeze when it retires in July. It's a great color for water. The sentiment is Amuse.

Elzybells....Just Coloring

At a recent crop, I was just in the mood to color. So I stamped these Elzybell images on plain white cardstock and had a ball. I know they are plain...but I still like them. The images are so dang cute!

Quilt Card: Bashful Blue and Close to Cocoa

Here is another quilt card for you. It's fun building the quilts square by square. It's also fun coloring with shades to really make the quilt "pop"! That is the bashful blue taffeta by SU.

Robot Card!

Wow, I never dreamed I'd like making robot cards, but this was fun! An SCS trade landed me an unexpected robot stamp set from Hero Arts. Miles digs it!

Billy & Lilly Sweethearts

I missed using these images for Valentine's Day. But I still had to use them. They are so stinking cute!

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Quilt Card: Grey and Navy

Here is another card using the quilt set from Papertrey. You build your own quilts square by square. It's fun but requires some patience! I put a little silver brad on the scissors.

March Give Away: The Winner Is....

Shelley! So sorry I forgot to draw! Can I blame it on tornados and power outages???

Shelly, I will be mailing the March Giveaway Goodies out to you. Congratulations!

Big Shot Pillowbox

This is nothing too fancy. The paper, die, and ribbon make it pretty cute as is. This is more to show the actual size of the pillow box die put together. It does not fit a standard gift card but is good for small candy or a couple pieces of chocolate. :) Speaking of which, I am totally addicted to almond MM's. Yum!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Huggybella

And another card with the huggybellas. This card was definitely in charge. I had limited stuff to work with and just had to go with it. I laugh when my friend Jen sometimes calls her cards a "train wreck" and that's kind of how I felt about this card as it was coming together. But in the end, I guess it's not so bad.

Hostess Party: Top Note Box

We made these little Top Note boxes at the recent hostess party. Just cut out two top notes with DSP. Make a standard little box using cardstock, 4x4" cardstock scored at 1" on all four sides...then assemble into square box. The flowers are one of SU's new Big Shot dies that cut and emboss at the same time! I love those dies! Punch handle holes with small SU oval punch...BEFORE you assemble the box or box will stop the punch from reaching down far enough. Also punch ovals once through both sheets so they match up right. Finished off with SU white taffeta.

I have also seen these done with a small bag placed in between instead of a box. And also done by turning top note dies horizontally...maybe a bag fits better that way. Just some other things to try!

Host Party: Auction Flags

I made these little flags using the Top Note die for each of the hostesses to use in my 3D item auction. Just punch holes and insert skewer sticks. I had a lot of those on hand from my recent fondue obsession, hee, hee.

Sketch Challenge: I Heart To Stamp

It's so fun and easy to do these sketch challenges. There are many different kinds out there, and I'm still trying to figure out my favorites. Of course the ones that have a drawing for prizes tend to be my favorite! Hee, hee. Most are random drawings for those who participate. Every once in awhile they choose the winner by the best card. This particular challenge will have a random winner.

This sketch is over at I Heart 2 Stamp. And here is my submission. This is a Riley Moose stamp by Hanna Stamps. I LOVE this little guy! So much fun to color. Paper is my new favorite by SU, Sweet Always. Cuteness!

Host Party: Top Note Purse

I saw this little purse concept done by cutting one top note and folding in half. It made for a really small purse.

I made a larger version by folding a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock in half and putting it through the big shot with the folded edge stopping short of the edge of the top note die. So when it came out, it was two top notes attached at a fold as shown above. Hope that makes sense.

Then layered Perfect Plum DSP on and finished off with Eggplant grosgrain and a RIBBON CHARM from the hodgepodge kit. LOVE IT!

Billy & Lilly Bike

Aw, isn't this just so cute?! Thanks to Diane for letting me stamp this image before I sent these cute stamps off to Chicago. This is my favorite SU paper, Sweet Always. And check out the flower brad, those things rock! Another AMuse sentiment because I traded for a lot of those babies!

Quilt Card: Olive/Caramel/Black

So this is where my contraband purchasing began. I wanted to make quilt cards to sell in my mom's sewing shop and this quilt set from Papertrey Ink was perfect! I intend to make a whole bunch of quilt cards soon.

Puppy Card

I bought this stamp off of ebay to use on Graham's first birthday invitations. But then I ended up going with another puppy stamp because I was too lazy to color this one. See how far I've come? Now I'm in a total coloring phase! I wish I knew the stamp company for this cute pup but I don't. I used the nesties and dry embossed the dots. I had hoped to enter this in a sketch challenge over at Taylored Expressions but I forgot to upload before the deadline. Phooey! I still like the card though so thought I'd share.

Sale-A-Bration: Yummy

These are cards using the SAB set called Yummy. It lends itself to making altered treats but since I'm a practical gal, I liked finding a way to use it on cards. It also coordinates with the Top Note die.

For the card above, I loved the concept I saw here by nitestamper (hey, that should be my name too)...for putting the layered SU ovals in between the frame and omitting the "yummy" sentiment. The DSP is the SAB paper. I used bashful blue, vanilla, and sand in this card.

I got this design from this card by mzrobin. The dry embossing is done with SU's texturz plates. The paper is the SAB paper. This might be my favorite design from the package. I stamped in basic grey and used grey taffeta.

This card layout came from kstamper's similar card. I knew I had felt flowers on hand so I found matching DSP to match the flowers. The stamp from Yummy IS a perfect fit on the top note die. FUN!

Then I had to try the same layout with SU's new crochetted flowers. That called for mixing up the DSP too. Can you say, "DSP paper swap"? :)
