DSP Share: Project #9

OMGosh, yes, I made a vintage card! I know, that's not normal. But this was so much fun, and I plan to do it more!

I was inspired by the Presto Patterns Specialty DSP. It's the white cardstock embossed with white designs. So I sponged over the DSP with Sahara Sand ink. Then I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set to stamp flower backgrounds on top of the embossing. Vintage is all about layering, right? Or so I'm told... Here's a funny. I had both my Sahara Sand and my Eggplant ink pads open. I meant to stamp purple flowers but accidentally inked my purple flower into Sahara sand. I realized this when I stamped it and got a mixed color. Then I realized, "this is vintage, mixing colors is allowed!". So I went with it, not cleaning my flower stamp between the two colors. And just mixing them all up into a mess. I think it turned out pretty good!

I layered smaller piece of the Specialty DSP on top of the background DSP and sponged it purple. Then I stamped the big flower and the "F" and cut them out as focal points. The ribbon is crocheted, so glad I decided to purchase that "just in case".

Anyways, I'm happy with my first real vintage creation all from my own design. The only rule I think I "broke" was using white cardstock some. Next time I will go with vanilla or Crumb Cake or something.

Hope you like!

This is so pretty! I love the vintage look! Do you ever go on Tim Holtz's blog? He does the 12 tags at Christmas time and shows all kinds of techniques ala vintage/distressed/shabby. I've got alot of inspiration from his blog too.
