Blog Series: National Scrapbooking Month

Time to report in on our scrapbooking the past week. I don't have much to write home about this week. But I did do a couple things.
  • Noelle came over again Friday night to scrapbook. I spent the time stuffing bags for Scrap Club so that part doesn't count because that is "work". But having Noelle over to scrapbook DOES count because that was "personal".
  • Looked through a scrapbooking magazine.
  • Ordered more pictures from Snapfish.
  • Tweaked a few pages that I had done in Graham's book. Already messing with it and it's not even done yet.
  • Ordered my first scrapbooking t-shirt from cafepress. Mandy found the perfect one for me. "Got coffee, will craft". Can't wait to show it off!

ArtsCow Update

I recently received my free prints from ArtsCow. Those who register will receive 50 free 4x6 prints and 50 free 5x7 prints each month, for 4 months. That's a total of 200 4x6 prints and 200 5x7 prints. They do expire each month so you need to stay on top of it if you want to maximize the freebies.

When they arrived, I first noticed that they came from HONG KONG! That was interesting. So that explains the shipping costs, which are a little higher than what I'm used to with Snapfish. If you became a regular customer, it might even out though, since the prints cost less than Snapfish...or any other online printing place that I'm aware of.

Second, the quality of the prints were acceptable. I would say they weren't as good as Snapfish but they were better than what I would get printed in town, like at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or Target. I've really grown to not like the printing quality at these places, when compared to the awesome-ness of Snapfish!

Third, I think I opted for matte finish but they came glossy from Artscow. Oh well, they were free.

My overall thoughts? I am definitely glad that I signed up. And I think the quality is good enough to pay the shipping on the rest of my hundreds of free prints....that sounds cool....HUNDREDS. Once I use up all the cool freebies though, I think I will have to go back to Snapfish where I have prepaid prints still waiting for me.

If you would like to get YOUR free Artscow prints, you can go here to register. By going through that link, I will receive credit and some more free prints. Thanks for your contribution to my picture-taking addiction! And thanks to all those who have already registered under me. You will want to redeem your first free prints in the same month you sign up....so they don't expire on you.

If you haven't tried Snapfish and would like a referral to THERE, let me know. It's done by sending you an email. Your first 20 4x6 prints are free and then they are 9 cents each or 8 cents each if you prepay for 250 prints. Shipping, to give you an idea, is $1.97 for 25 prints and $2.95 for 55 prints.

Artscow 4x6 prints are normally 6 cents each. To compare shipping to Snapfish, 25 pictures would cost $2.49 to ship and 55 prints would cost $4.49 to ship.

I really love ordering prints online and having them delivered right to my door. I used to be an impatient 1-hour photo developer, but the ease and quality of printing online has totally won me over to online printing. With two little ones, it is hard to get out to drop pictures off and to get out AGAIN to pick them up. And hey, with the price of gasoline right now, it's probably cheaper to pay the shipping costs than to drive to print pictures in town. Can I get an "amen" on that?

Feel free to leave comments about your experiences with ArtsCow, Snapfish, or any other picture developing endeavor. We'd love to hear!
