Antibellum USA

Retiring DSP: Holiday Lounge & Storybook
Retiring Colors: Ruby Red & Taken With Teal
Retiring Ribbon: Wide Satin Grey

Stamp Set: Service and Sacrifice. It is not retiring.

The scallops are made with a circle punch! Cut them in half and I only had to punch 3 circles. I worked from the center to the outside...cutting off the circles that hung over the side edges.

Upcoming New Catalog Shares!

Some of you are already starting to ask so I wanted to let you all in on a little secret...I have MONTHS of new product shares lined up for you beginning July 1st with the new catalog!

I know many of us are on tight budgets so I am going to offer a different share each month, for about 8 months straight. I will let you know the share schedule, so you can plan ahead on which ones you may want to do.

And the best part is that I think I can keep each share in the $12 - $15 range.

Tune in July 1st for more details!

Season of Friendship Coasters

I just had to show off these adorable coasters that an online friend was so kind to send me as a housewarming gift! Aren't they amazing?! She stamped a coaster for each season using Season of Friendship. Even my hubby was thoroughly impressed. These are proudly displayed on my stamp table in my new stamp room...with the summer coaster on top right now. Happy Summer on Monday!

And thank you again, Theresa (Tree)!

Raised Table

Looky! I raised a table in my stamping room! And it cost under $10 to do.

This is the table where I plan to do cutting, Big Shot work, and probably stand-up stamping. So I wanted it up to a comfortable height, similar to the height of my kitchen island. I did some measuring and the off to Lowes I went. I had read that PVC pipes work as great table extenders!

The table is a 6' resin table that I got at Menards on a holiday sale for $35. They told me they are usually on sale around holidays when people need extra seating for dinners and such. For the PVC pipes, I bought two pieces that were 2 feet long each and 1 1/2 inch around. The legs of my table measure 1 1/4 inch so I knew they would fit into 1 1/2" pipes. The pipes just slide onto the legs until they hit the curve of the leg. There is no screwing or anything like that. The pipes cost under $2 each.

Jeff did have to cut the 2 foots pipes into 1 foot pieces. Each 12" pipe covered 5 inches of the table legs and then added another 7 inches to the table height.

My biggest cost was $5 spray paint because I didn't want these to be white with printing on them, like they come. I've seen others do this and the white makes your table look like a wrapped horse! I really wanted gray spray paint to match the legs but black was the closest they had. Still better than white.

The table is actually still very sturdy. I am pleased. But I am also on the hunt for 2" casters to put on the bottom of each PVC pipe.

This was much more economical than building an island with cabinets and countertops or even buying a ready-made island...although those would be fun! For now this will work and will save my back. I am excited to be able to stand and stamp comfortably. But I also have a stool I can pull up if I want to.

Scrap Club: April

This was our second layout and it was a flowery, spring kit. But I altered it with some soccer stamps to commemorate Miles's first soccer season. The first page has room for his professional picture that we have to get from the coach. It was a fun Spring!

Mandy will show you the first layout. My picture kept coming up rotated so.....

Scallop Circle Dress

This was our other card for Stamp Club. We used In-Color Bermuda Bay. The background is retiring stamp, Tres Chic.

We used vellum cardstock cut out with the large scallop circle die. Then you cut out the sides to turn it into a dress! The next step was dry embossing the vellum dress with the Manhattan embossing folder in the Big Shot. Some taffeta ribbon and a rhinestone brad finish off the dress.

I can't wait to make more scallop circle dresses using fun designer papers!

Simple Father's Day Card

This was one of our Stamp Club cards in May. It was a favorite of many. I think my gals have picked up on my love of simple!

I cut a square stencil out of cardboard with my paper cutter. But it would also be super cool to use all the Nestability shapes as stencils! We sponged thelight blue background using the stencil. Then we inked up the tree in Forest Friends using markers and stamped the image over the sponged blackground. The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes, where there is a sentiment for all holidays!

The card base is actually White Naturals. It's heavy cardstock and adds a nice speckled background. It's hard to see in this picture, sorry.

My card was inspired by this card on SCS.

New Stamp Room

So sorry for the lack of posts recently. The move and home renovation have been crazy. I've finally come to terms with the fact that we aren't going to be "settled" for quite awhile. But I continue on my painting mission day after day.

Many of you have asked for a peek at the new craft room. Here is one corner. The hutch used to be in our old kitchen. I was excited to get it for the craft room in the new house! It used to have doors on the top but one got cracked in half during the move. I was sad for a couple minutes til I realized that open storage might be a cool thing. The big cabinet below holds my bulky items like laminating machine and light table. The drawers are for my home office supplies. The laptop sits on the hutch pretty well too. The top of the hutch is a good place for keeping supplies away from the kiddos like sewing pins and rotary cutter and my beloved copic markers!

The table is my original craft table. The chair is cute, but I'd rather have a more functional office chair.

I had a hard time arranging these furniture pieces. But I'm happy with the final layout. I can see out the door when at the table. This is a good thing since the boys are usually running all over. All moms know you should never have your back to your kids, especially two preschool boys!

I settled on purple for the stamp room. At first I thought it was too dark, but now I really like it. Paint colors take awhile to grow on me. It's a Benjamin Moore color, need to look up the name.

The white shelf was a new purchase right before the move. Jeff has so much work to do around the house so I was really tickled when he took the time to hang this for me.

I hope you like your first peek! There is more to come. :)

SU Retirement Lists - Some Items 25% & 50% Off!

It's that time of the year again! SU has posted all items that will not be available in the new catalog. The new catalog starts July 1. Retiring stamp sets and decorative vinyl are available the entire month of June, even if they go on back order. The accessories are just while supplies last. SU will let us know what runs out each day at 5pm.

If you are in my Stamp Clubs, you may want to order retiring stamps and vinyl at our next meeting. However, if anyone really wants retiring accessories, I recommend ordering those right away. In years past, we have seen many items run out early. Some are even 25% or 50% off! Some of my favorites that you may want to snag up before the are gone:

Forget Me Not Keepers
Sherbert and Playground Buttons (50% off)
Latte Buttons (25% off)
Corduroy Buttons (25% & 50% off)
Flower Brads (25% off)
Designer Papers (some 25% off)
Flower Brads (25% off)
Ribbons (25% & 50% off)

SU is revamping it's color palette with the new catalog, and 30 colors are retiring! So you will notice that a lot of "color items" are on the accessory retirement list. The new color palette will have less colors, but they are very refreshing so I'm excited about this change!

I have attached the 3 retirement lists for you. However, the SU web store also has the items SHOWN for you which is awesome! The web store has the retired items broken down by different categories, INCLUDING 25% and 50% SECTIONS! The discount prices are not showing up but figure 50% off the preferred price!

Click to here to see the web store.

Let's do it this way. I will plan to enter an order at 6pm tonight. If you contact me before then with an order, it will go in at 6pm. Then we will decide what to do tomorrow. I can't make any guarantees on the availability of popular items so contact me soon if you really want something!
